Hadrian's wall – The long wall in England



Not many people know that not only in China but also in England there has a historically important long wall. This great wall known as Hadrian's Sword was built by the Romans, who had been in power in England for about two thousand years ago.

The archaeological remains are still preserved it as one of the biggest tourist attractions in northern England.  Visitors can see the ruins of the Hadrian wall in many parts of the wall as well as the fortresses and bare basalt.


This wall was built during the reign of Hadrian the Emperor in the 28th century. The main purpose of the construction of the wall was to save the British Roman Empire from assaults and separate them from barbarians.

It is still amazing that this bridge was built at a hundred and a half feet long. There is a speciality in the different areas of the field. Historians note that the width and height of Hadrian's wall has been varied in many ways because it was made using raw materials available on every location.

On the east side of the river Irving River, the width of the wall built of squares is 5 meters long and 5 to 6 meters high. On the west side of the river, the wall made of clay is about 6 meters tall and a height of 3.5 meters.

Besides the hills slide, the Hadrian's Mill has been constructed to the hill slopes to the hill. The construction of the wall was completed in almost six years, not just to resist the attacks of the enemy, but also the long-term vision of Hadrian Emperor, historians point out that.

The wall construction was originally from the east. Then it was spreading to the west. Three soldiers of the main three places, who were under Roman rule participated in the making of the wall.

The hard work of the soldiers was behind the rapid construction of the wall which was climbing and climbing hills. There is a misunderstanding that Hadrian's wall separates between Scotland and England. But Hadrian's wall is entirely within the boundaries of England.

Antoninus Pius, who came to power after the death of Hadrian Emperor in the AD 138, completely abandoned this wall and initiated the construction of another wall called Antonine Wall.
